Groups allow you to segment and tier your customers to provide them with specific allocation offers, discounts, or free shipping.

There are two types of Groups:

Standard Groups

Allows you to offer a discount and / or free shipping to a Group of your customers.

Allocation Groups

The primary tool of the Allocation sales model, these Groups allow you to designate different wines and different quantities available to the people in specific groups during a specific date range, in addition to the functionality in Standard Groups.

Groups and email segmentation

If you are utilizing a Campaign Monitor account through Figure, you'll be able to sync the two based on Group, which allow for time saving processes during the release of your email campaigns.

Organizing your customers into Groups

Groups can be set up in a number of ways, and we provide some strategies for how to structure your customers in the Best Practices section titled Valuable Insights for Group Creation. You may want to read that article before creating the process for naming and managing your groups.

Adding new customers to a default Group

There is a section in Settings>Customers that will allow you to designate what Group new customers are put in automatically when they create a new account or sign up for the mailing list. That group could be your lowest tier level, perhaps a group called “Waiting List”, or even your main “Mailing List”.
