Until you create your first promo code, the promo code box will not appear on the check out page of your website.

Be aware, promo codes are not case sensitive.

Promo codes only work once per customer. Therefore, if you have a group of people that you continuously want to offer a discount, say people in the wine trade or friends and family that buy online, it is better to create a Group, set up an overall discount to the group details, then apply those customers to that group.

In the “Actions” box on the right side of the Promos page, click the “New Promotion Code” link. A window will appear where you enter the code. Don’t use punctuation in the codes. The “Select Type” section allows you to designate the code as a percentage discount or a dollar discount. Once you select one of those options, a cell will appear for you to enter the percentage or dollar amount.

After you click the blue “Create Promo Code” button, you will be taken to a page with more details.

>Set the code as Active or Inactive.
>Adjust the percentage discount or dollar amount for the code.
>Set a start and end period for the promo code, so if you only wanted to make it available for one day or over a holiday weekend, this is where you can get that set up.
>To keep the promo code active at all times, don’t enter any dates.

To see a list of the promo codes being used on orders you can go to the main Orders page.
>In the “Quick Filter” on the right margin select an “Order Date” (week, month, quarter, year).
>Click the “Filter” button at the bottom of that section to apply and display the orders from that time frame.
>Once the list of orders are displayed, on the left side, the first column is a check box displayed by each order number.
>Click the check box in the header row of that column to select all orders from that time frame.
>Click the “Choose an Action” drop down menu and select either the Order Data Export or Order Totals Export.
>There will be a column in each spreadsheet export showing the promo codes used for that block of orders. Be aware there may not be any promo codes used during that time frame.
