Similar to most of the report pages, these two start off by providing a cell to “Select a Date”.
Stripe - Payment Statements
Once you have selected your time frame, the results on this page will show overall totals, based on the 5pm to 5pm PDT (4pm to 4pm PST) time model found in the Accounting reports (12am UTC time). Therefore, they may not match up to the totals you see on the Standard Reports pages, or by using the Quick Filter feature on the main Orders page, which are based on exact calendar days.
These Stripe reports are available for download to .csv files in the upper right corner.
The “Transactions” export will show each individual transaction with a date, whether it was a payment or a refund, the credit card used (Visa, MC, Discover, Amex), the total amount, and the order number.
The “Statements” export will show what you are seeing on the screen, overall results based on the day (5pm to 5pm) the total funds were settled. The fees column is a combination of your credit card processing rate and the per transaction fee.
Refunds per day can be found in the these reporting results as well, allowing your accounting team to research which orders had refunds processed.
There is also a column for the dreaded Chargeback. Be aware that Stripe charges you $15 for a chargeback. The most common reasons we have heard for a customer contacting their credit card company to initiate a chargeback/disputed charge is due to forgetfulness, not understanding that wine orders may be held over summer time to avoid damage from heat during shipping, and/or not recognizing the charge on their credit card statement. Credit card transaction descriptors (the source that initiate the payment - your winery) are determined by credit card companies. Oddly, being the gate-keepers of fraud and reversed charges, they have not developed a common procedure for determining accuracy between merchants and customers.
Generally your winery name will appear as source for the payment, however, sometimes they choose Stripe as the source of the payment. Rarely we have seen Figure as the chosen source.
Stripe - Bank Transfers
There is a bit of overlap between these two reports. While the “Stripe - Payment Statements” section will show you the overall totals from all transactions with a breakdown of the different credit card companies, the report screen for “Bank Transfers” give you an overall total showing the amount of transactions, total dollars, total fees, and total deposit, with an option to Export that day’s activities.
The Export from this page is similar to the “Transactions” export from the Stripe - Payment Statements page mentioned above, but here you are given the ability to quickly grab a single day of details. Plus it will show you the fees per transaction along with the order number and client id.
